Oh yes we can. I don't know if anyone needs a recipe to make Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches but just in case, this one is a bona-fide hit. I've made them with both Impossible meat and with Beyond Steak Tips. All I can say is yum.
1 Tbsp vegan butter
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 Green pepper, thinly sliced
1 Sweet Vidalia onion, sliced
8 oz white/cremini mushrooms, sliced
12 oz Impossible meat or 10 oz Beyond Steak Tips
1/2 Tbsp vegan worcestershire
1/2 Tbsp A1 steak sauce + more for drizzling
4 slices vegan provolone cheese
4 hoagie rolls
1. In a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, melt vegan butter then add olive oil. Saute peppers, onion and mushrooms stirring often, until caramelized, 10 to 12 minutes. Season well with salt and pepper while cooking. Remove from skillet and set aside. *If your skillet is large enough, just push vegetables to perimeter.
2. Add Impossible meat, breaking up with a spatula until well browned, approximately 5 to 6 minutes. Stir in vegan worchestire and A1 sauce and continue to cook until well combined.
3. Return veggies to skillet and toss to combine with Impossiblemeat. Blanket mixture with provolone slices and cook, covered, until the cheese is melted, about 3 minutes more. Hint, sprinkle a little water around the sides of skillet to create steam to melt the provolone.
4. Fill hoagie rolls with mixture. Serve drizzled with additional A1 if desired.
